Recycling Innovators Forum

The Recycling Innovators Forum seeks to recognize and reward original and actionable innovations that have the potential to transform the recycling industry. Nextek have been selected as one of nine finalists out of 50 nominations for its technology a New Food Grade Recycling Process for Post-Consumer PP Food Packaging.

The final event to select the top three winners will be held on August 26 2013 in Louisville Kentucky


Resource Revolution Awards

EDIE, May 2013

The Resource Revolution Awards seek to find the game-changers who are redefining the concept of waste and revolutionising the way society thinks and deals with it.Nextek have been selected and shortlisted for the Closed Loop Exemplar. This award recognises a new closed loop initiative that is reducing demand for virgin materials or dynamically linking renewable energy supply and consumption.


Cambridge University IfM- Open Innovation Award – Highly Commended

Institute for Manufacturing Cambridge University UK, March 2013

Nextek award was selected as a finalist from over 70 entrants for a novel “No- Odour” process for the recycling of post-consumer plastics that can be re-used at levels of 30% to 100% in new packaging for Personal Care and Laundry products. The judging panel were from Cambridge University’s Open Innovation group coordinated by the Institute of Manufacturing.

Nextek has pioneered a packaging first by developing a closed loop process for food grade
post-consumer recycled polypropylene (PP) packaging.

JUDGES’ COMMENTS: This one hit the button, it is a very big breakthrough. It is pushing the envelope and has got support of industry for material that is hard to manage.

Awarded for the best new recycling innovation with a major impact on carbon savings for the process to recycle PP to food grade quality from post-consumer waste.

Rushlight Awards 2011 London Outstanding innovation amongst the entries for resource management and recycling.


World Packaging Organisation: WorldStar Awards

Nextek Limited has won a WorldStar Award presented only to those packages which, having already won recognition in a national competition, that are compared by an expert panel of judges to similar packages from around the world. Awards are based on the judges’ consensus that a package is superior in its own right, and better in its class in execution or innovation by comparison.

The award was won for the HDPE Milk Bottles Recycling Project. This project was run in conjunction with WRAP, Dairy Crest, Nampak and Marks & Spencer.

EDIE Award for Environmental Excellence YEAR2007

Nextek Limited has received the prestigious EDIE Award for Environmental Excellence for consultancy projects in Waste and Recycling at London’s Natural History Museum. The award was for “doing the un-doable”.The world first technology was led by Nextek’s Managing Director Edward Kosior in collaboration with Nampak, Dairy Crest, Marks & Spencer and WRAP.
